Title: Perspectives on Infrastructure for Crowdsourcing
Abstract:
Human computation has gained a lot of interest lately as a paradigm for solving problems that computers can"t do yet. Crowdsourcing marketplaces are showing that is possible to get tasks completed in time with a modest budget in a wide range of applications. However, the infrastructure that is currently available for supporting crowdsourcing tasks is very limited. In this talk, I outline the rise of human computation, summarize the limitations of a popular platform, and present a perspective on the topic that can be viewed as a starting point to debate requirements for this new research area.
